 NCDC confirms four new coronavirus cases as Nigeria’s toll rises to 135

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed four new coronavirus cases bringing the country’s disease toll to 135.

The centre announced this in a tweet on Monday.



According to NCDC, three of the new cases are in Osun state, while one is in Ogun state.

This development comes less than 18 hours after the country recorded 20 new cases.



“Four new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria; 3 in Osun and 1 in Ogun As at 11:15 am 31st March there are 135 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria with 2 deaths,” it tweeted.



Of the total 135 confirmed cases, Lagos state has highest number with 81 cases.

The state is followed by FCT with 25 and Oyo with eight cases.

Osun has five cases, Ogun has four, Kaduna has three, while Edo, Enugu, and Bauchi states have two cases each.

Ekiti, Rivers and Benue states have recorded one case each.

The country recorded its second death from the disease on Monday.

Globally, over 700,000 cases have been recorded with at least 38,000 people already dead from coronavirus.
